Historic Reference

Agios Constantinos and Agia Eleni arrived in Cyprus at Vasilopotamos and they moved towards the highest mountain they first saw which was Epilas at Monagroulli to build a church to honour Holly Cross since they were saved from a rough sea. At the Epilas mountain they saw the Holly Cross illuminating on the top of another mountain which was Stavrovouni where they finally built the church.

On a rock at the mount Epilas there is a shape resembles a horse shoe. At this very same spot an action was initiated recently to erect a church dedicated to Agios Constantinos and Agia Eleni.
